About me

Hi! My name is Bonita and I am an artist/illustrator born and based in the UK. I have been an artist my whole life and began to develop my illustrative style at a young age. I was very much supported to do this by my family throughout my childhood and growing up always felt I would become an artist one day. Until recently I have been using traditional materials to create my art, but during the lockdown of 2020 I decided to teach myself how to use Adobe Illustrator. I now use both traditional and digital medium to draw.

 

My art is inspired by my desire to live a happy, fun and carefree life and my need to pass this onto others. This has become particularly important to me after my time working in a preschool. During this time I was able to observe a child’s ability to live in carefree way, using their imagination to have fun and express themselves. This way living something I feel is often left behind when entering adulthood; through my art I try to bring it back and remind others, and myself, that you don’t have to be a child to be happy and have fun.
